Tuberville Watch III

This never gets old...

From the latest story about the new Harris Poll inclusion in the BCS:

Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville said the preseason rankings put his team at a disadvantage because it had too much ground to make up in the BCS standings before games were even played.

Waaaaaahhhhhhhhh.

I do agree with Tuberville in that there shouldn't be any preseason polls. Other than to create hype a week or two before the season, preseason rankings are baseless.

Kind of after-the-fact though.

You can't complain after, you lose legitimacy.

Look at USC in 2003, they just said "ok" and played the Rose Bowl for the AP crown. Even if they were upset, they knew they didn't say a word before or during the season and had no grounds to complain.

If Tuberville keeps up his crusade this year, 2,3,5 years down the road, then maybe he's not just whining.

yeah i gotta say he has a point...tuberville. i mean what he and mack brown did...campaign for bowl slots is pretty much wha tyou ahve to do these days. its a shame, considering this is a game that should be decided on the field. yet here we are the higest level of collegiate team sports...and we can't even get a playoff going, cause of selfish bastards (not all people who want bowls are selfish just the ones who are in charge of the game..and have nothing to do with the game) the NCAA needs to step in and do something...seriously.

People who keep clamoring for a playoff will soon get what they deserve. Look at college basketball (I don't). It's regular season is irrelevant, having an 11 loss Villanova winning it all in the 80's. People forget that today's 27 bowls gives us 27 Bowl Winners, out of what is now 119 teams looking for incoming freshmen to play on their teams. A playoff will make all of that irrelevant, except for the perrenially top 10 teams that hover around the 4 team playoffs each year, and about 3 or 4 of them always winning it, like Duke.

I don't know about you, but I already hate college basketball, don't turn college football into another version.

Fight ON!

Not a fan of college basketball by any stretch of the imagination.

It's a bad style of ball, all other issues aside. Unwatchable.
