Feldman-Lanche, Chick-fil-A and Upcoming
Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at 01:19PM Not quite an InstaLanche, but I'll take the traffic.
ESPN's ($) Bruce Feldman notes my recent entry about the Chick-fil-A bowl blog.
I always have a hard time recalling sponsors of certain bowls, but the Chick-fil-A folks have done a smart thing getting former NFL coach Leeman Bennett to do a blog about the selection process.
(Full Disclosure: I love Chick-fil-A. It is my one fast food vice. As pathetic as this sounds, and I admit it, I've actually been to the Web site to find the nearest Chick-fil-A to me here in L.A., which probably qualifies me for that Jeff Foxworthy "You know you're a Redneck" bit.)
Anyhow, the most interesting thing I saw in the entry leading up to the weekend: "Ralph Friedgen's Terps are sitting right beside B.C. and Wake at the top of the ACC's Atlantic Division. The last time Maryland was in this position, they won 10 games and came to the Chick-fil-A Bowl and beat a very strong Tennessee team. We're keeping our eyes on them for a possible repeat performance."
Props also go to the CFR blog, which is how I found the site.
Thanks, as always, for the nice plugs Bruce.
CFR would also like to extend his warmest congratulations to Bruce for his recent engagement to his girlfriend Christy this past weekend!
And as for Chick-fil-A... I agree that place is great. Earlier this year they ran a great promotion during SEC games on Jefferson-Pilot Lincoln Financial broadcasts of SEC games. TV viewers had to simply visit the Million Nuggets website and register for a chance to win free chicken nuggets.
I jumped at that opportunity!
Sadly, I didn't win any nuggets, but recently was mailed a voucher for a free large Dr. Pepper as consolation. I love Dr. Pepper so that was nice.

Alright, in other news I'll have a Pundit Roundup later tonight. Stay tuned.
