Coincidence, or...

...the blogs leading the media?

April 20: The Sporting News' Dan Pompei

April 16: CFR

April 10: Buckeye Commentary

It's like a trail of crumbs.  Thing is, I'm cool with it.  Not everything I do here is original.  Very little in this world is truly original.  It's like the South Park episode where the underlying joke is that all originality in serial television is gone because "The Simpsons already did it"---meaning if you've thought of it, chances are it's already been done.  No harm in trying to improve upon it though.

Sports Illustrated's Chris Ballard and Des Moines Register columnist Nancy Clark aside, it's becoming clear that blogs and traditional media should share a mutually beneficial existence.

The media guys and gals can gather facts, hard data, quotes and first-hand observation.  We bloggers can carry much of the discussion relevant to the game.  They can borrow (with attribution if possible next time, please?) our interesting creations to make their jobs more interesting, we can borrow their hard work to make ours more interesting.

No reason for the 6,000 word SI fit of condescension.
