Lonely Friday Evening?

If you have nothing better to do, SI says there's a program on CSTV Friday night called Uninvited about the 1951 University of San Francisco football team.

After going 9-0 in 1951, the University of San Francisco should have been invited to the Orange Bowl.  But there was a catch: an organizer asked the Dons if they would leave linebacker Burl Toler and halfback Ollie Matson, their two black players, at home.

The school refused and weeks later dropped its football program altogether.  This documentary, featuring interviews with several players, tells the story fo that USF team and the greatest game it never played.

CST 10:30 p.m.

Incidentally, Toler's grandson of the same name played wide receiver at Cal just a few short years ago.

Very cool story. Any way to see it if you don't have CSTV?

Not that I know of.

Maybe in a few months it might end up on the shelves of your local Blockbuster etc. I didn't find much online about it, producers etc., usually something like that has a website and some marketing behind it.

Maybe some excerpts show up on YouTube? Shrug.

I don't have CSTV either.

FYI, Burl's brother Cameron is currently a WR at Cal.
