Friday Heisman Blogging

Heisman Pundit's latest is up: a Heisman primer for 2007.

This is a monster year for tailbacks.  They're overdue to get into the mix after a recent run of quarterbacks (Reggie Bush aside).

I don't think tailbacks are overdue. I think anyone who isn't a quarterback, running back or receiver is overdue.

Yes, I know it's not a new gripe, but it's a gripe that won't get old. Not until they rename the award.

Yeah, I also have alot of problems with the Heisman. It's supposed to go to the best player in college, but a defensive player is never going to win it, if he doesn't return kicks or make some plays on offense. A guy could be the most dominant player in college football, but if they aren't on a team that wins at least 9 games they have no chance, well unless they play for Notre Dame.

Unless the schedule of three 1-AA schools works against him, QB Colt Brennan of Hawaii should get the award. 60 TDs are not out of the question.

Maybe Darren McFadden if the Hogs run a ton, but no one else will put up the numbers nor carry a team like Brennan.
